Virtual reality and new ways to interact with videos, photography and games has been a hot topic for decades, often with a big “wow factor.”

While much of the technology behind virtual reality has been used for entertainment purposes with a growing presence in the professional sector, a new agreement between Samsung and Reuters is showcasing news photography in a new way.

“Our agreement with Samsung allows us to enhance our visual journalism and provide a more absorbing experience for our viewers,” said Stephen Adler, Editor in Chief and President, Reuters.

“Through VR and 360 technology, customers will be able to deepen their perspective on news events and gain a richer understanding of the context.”
