As the new generation of legal buyers gradually establish a more modern buying approach among clients, how can law firms be prepared for the future?
A new study – Sharplegal – carried out by Lisa Hart Shepherd, CEO of Acritas Research, offers some fascinating insight.
The research, which included 1,782 telephone interviews with legal buyers, compared the demographic profile, attitudes, and buying behaviours of the younger generation with their older peers from across the globe.
The key findings reveal that younger legal buyers, are less satisfied with the current standards of the legal profession, and demand that firms deliver ‘high standards and more value-added services.’
It also identified that the younger generation of legal buyers are more ‘astute spenders’ and are more likely to adopt modern procurement methods and measure performance, as well as requiring firms to be better at budgeting and more cost-conscious.
