Biggest ever Legal Geek Conference—ready, set, go!

The highly anticipated annual Legal Geek Conference is just days away, and it is shaping up to be the largest one yet.

Building on the success of last year’s event, there will be over 2,000 delegates in attendance. It will bring together legal tech startups from across the globe, along with the legal community, with the aim of championing and accelerating innovation in the market space.

In the last year alone, legal tech startups have further cemented a stronghold in the legal industry; increasingly forging partnerships with law firms and businesses—and largely contributing to a shift in the delivery of legal services.

Legal Geek will bring this evolving movement under one roof on 17 October at the historic East London Truman Brewery. An excellent location, since it’s not your typical formal conference. Legal Geek prides itself of establishing a creative, relaxed atmosphere, and ultimately an enjoyable and informative day for all involved.

The conference is expected to be a hive of energy once again, with a bumper agenda comprising of 100 speakers set to deliver TED-Talk style presentations—including those from tech startup entrepreneurs; technology experts; law firm leaders; and, innovation and startup investors. The speakers’ talks, therefore, will offer a broad picture of innovation and collaboration taking place in the legal industry today.

Alongside the talks, there will also be number of break-out seminars, ‘speed networking’, a pitching competition, and a ‘startup alley’ providing a rostrum for entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas and business offering. An exciting new addition to the bill this year will be the ‘In-house Stage’, focusing on the collaborative work taking place in this segment of the industry between startups, businesses—and also law firms.

The sessions throughout the day will be diverse in their delivery and in their subject matter, focusing on ‘Women in LawTech’, blockchain, ‘legal design’, cyber security, ‘applying AI in practice’, and ‘the power of data’, just to name a few.

Thomson Reuters is delighted to be partnering with Legal Geek again this year for the conference. In partnering with Legal Geek, Thomson Reuters hopes to champion legal tech companies, and support and guide them to ensure they are able to access and grow within the legal market.

Thomson Reuters recently launched a LegalTech Incubator, which gives start-ups the opportunity to pitch their legal tech proposition to the business for the chance to bring it to life through a direct co-innovation partnership with Thomson Reuters Labs.

Successful applicants will be able to become one of a select group of visionaries to enjoy a three-month partnership with Thomson Reuters and the advantages of our industry-leading data and tools, mentorship and expertise, facilitated workshops and exposure opportunities, and more.
