Thomson Reuters has announced the details of its 12th annual flagship thought leadership event series “Partner Summit: Moving Your Practice Forward.” Over the past decade, the Partner Summits have provided thousands of firm leaders a unique opportunity to learn how to build a more progressive firm and a truly differentiated client service experience.

Partner Summits are limited to 80 attendees per city, ensuring an interactive and engaging experience for each attendee. The much anticipated and thought-provoking event series features thought leaders in the profession who offer meaningful insights based on their experience as real-world, active in-firm practitioners that each have achieved accelerated growth.

Mark Martukovich, CPA and managing partner of FMA, CPA, is returning this year as the featured practitioner presenter to share insights on how his firm’s focus on client relationships and value-add services has transformed his practice from a traditional services firm to one that offers an entirely new value proposition to clients by way of advisory services. Martukovich attended the Thomson Reuters Partner Summit in 2014, during which he gained the vision for how to transition his firm from a traditional tax practice to a firm that offers all the fundamental traditional CPA firm services, but also provides high-value business advisory services.

“It is very satisfying to see where my firm is today as compared to just a couple years ago. Not only have we grown revenue and increased profit margins, but we’ve also elevated the relationships we have with clients and improved how they see the value our firm delivers,” said Martukovich.

Additionally, Thomson Reuters experts Therese Witherow and Mo Arbas will share the perspective they’ve gained from years of helping firms redefine their business model, implement technology tools, and establish workflow best practices.

At the core of Partner Summit is relevant practitioner insights and real-world experiences. Attendees will hear transformation stories and action plans on pertinent topics from many practitioners, including how to build a breakthrough firm that is a true partner to clients. Courses are presented in a classroom setting and are conducive to interactive learning and networking among peers. Sessions will cover topics including product and service development, sales and marketing, operations, firm management, leadership and plan execution.

“Tax and accounting professionals are facing an increasing pace of disruption from regulatory changes, new technology and growing client expectations,” said Andrew W. McCracken, customer implementation and consulting lead for the Tax Professionals business of Thomson Reuters. “Partner Summits equip attendees with concepts and tools they can implement immediately to diversify their practice and build a more progressive firm.”

“Over the years, customers have shared with us just how much of a catalyst for positive change the Partner Summit experience is. That’s why we quickly sell out these exclusive events every year, as is the case again this year. Demand is high because Partner Summit is a precursor to our innovative and market-proven Practice Forward program. Practice Forward begins with the belief that our profession’s success from today forward rests with a more pronounced advisory role,” said Scott Fleszar, head of customer proposition for Small-Mid Firms, Tax Professionals, at Thomson Reuters.
