• The Stevie Awards are one of the world’s top international business awards
• Program has expanded to now cover U.S., Canada, UK and Ireland

May 1, 2019 – Thomson Reuters was named the winner of a Bronze Stevie® Award in the New Product & Service Categories – Business Technology category in The 17th Annual American Business Awards® today.

The American Business Awards are the U.S.A.’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word meaning “crowned,” the awards will be presented to winners at a gala ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Tuesday, June 11. Tickets are now on sale.

More than 3,800 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Live Event of the Year, and App of the Year, among others.  Thomson Reuters was nominated in the New Product & Service Categories – Business Technology category.

Thomson Reuters has offered the Authenticator mobile app since 2017 for the CS Professional Suite, and other software. There was a need for a more robust multi-factor authentication (MFA) mobile plan, with backup options and choices for those without access to a smartphone. In 2018, new MFA technology was launched to meet those needs, one key piece being the Thomson Reuters Authenticator Display card. The cards, which are the size of a credit card, allow users to meet a second factor of authentication to gain access to their software.

“I’m very proud of our teams for seeing a need and creating a solution,” said Christina Wiseman, product manager, centralized services, with the Thomson Reuters Tax Professionals business. “These cards give our clients immediate access to their data, providing the security benefits of a mobile app, for those situations where the client may not be able to use the mobile app. Awards like these validate the importance of our products. It gives me great joy to witness one of our best products getting the recognition that it deserves. This year, Thomson Reuters Authenticator has also been named one of Accounting Today’s Top New Product,” Wiseman continued.

Judges’ comments included – This is a timely solution as the industry is dealing with data breaches and security threats.

More than 200 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners.

“The nominations submitted to The 2019 American Business Awards were outstanding.  They illustrate the continued vibrancy of innovation and high level of achievement across the American economic landscape,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards.
